“Bride price is not Christian” Freeze says as he reveals no man will pay a single Kobo as bride price to marry his daughters

Daddy Freeze has condemned the payment of bride price and has said no daughter of his “will be bought or sold like a commodity”.

The media personality who has one biological daughter and other adopted daughters from his partner, said bride price is biblical but not “Christian”. He went on to add that he hopes for a world where the payment of bride price will be abolished.

He wrote:

No daughter of mine would be bought or sold like a commodity.

Bride price is biblical, yes, but NOT christian! It’s not everything that is biblical that is christian.

No where was any christian mandated to pay bride price and since we are all one in Christ (Galatians 3:28
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ), neither male nor female. So unless groom price is introduced as well, let’s do away with a tradition that that in many places indicates that a woman has been bought and if she wants to leave the marriage she must leave the children of the marriage behind, absolute, ridiculous buffoonery and utter nonsense!

A clear biblical example of where murder was a ‘bride price’ as David killed 200 men and cut their penises just to marry Saul’s daughter.

Okunnu says: I almost ran mad day I was paid 60 kobo for movie role

50-year-old Nollywood actor, Wale Akorede a.k.a Okunnu who has been in the industry for over 2 decades, in a new interview recounted how he was paid 60 kobo for his first movie role.

According to the comic actor, he almost ran mad after he was paid 60 kobo for his first movie role. Okunnu disclosed that the pay motivated him to focus more on his craft and put in more efforts to be the best on the job.

“The first time I received money for acting was in 1984 and I was paid 60 kobo. When I was given the money, I almost ran mad. I was very impressed and encouraged to do the job; presently, I earn well for most of the roles I play,” he said.

The actor who further stated that he is not caged by comical roles, told Saturday Beats;

“I don’t feel stereotyped by playing such roles because I can still take up any role. I have played all sorts of roles in movies. But the funny thing is that even when I do serious roles, people still laugh because of the stereotype.”

On why he will never stop acting despite the challenges of life, Okunnu said;

“I am always happy; I don’t allow challenges to weigh me down. I loved acting as a child but my parents were not in support of it. I started full-time acting after my father died. I even ran away from home several times because I wanted to be on location. My mother gave me her full support when she started seeing me on screen.

“I used to be a proper businessman before, but acting runs through my veins. The field of business is a playground for me but there is no other profession I would rather do than this. Acting is my destiny.”

‘Don’t marry for Naira and Kobo’- Ex-beauty queen, Omowunmi Akinnifesi advices – Nigeria News

Ex-beauty queen, Omowunmi Akinnifesi, in an Instagram video she shared, penned down a post to prospective Nigerian brides who might be marrying for Naira and Kobo.

Omowunmi Akinnifesi who advised ladies to marry men that can lead them mentally and spiritually, wrote;

The greatest decision you will make in your life is who you marry. Don’t marry for naira and kobo, don’t marry a Fool. Marry a man that can lead you spiritually and mentally. Even if he is not there yet spiritually at least he has the fear and love for God (pls not those fake ones that will say “i am spiritual”). By their fruit you shall know them.
.
Let him believe in you and your purpose. Don’t be where the man is telling you “you have no value” or he simply ignores your dreams when you talk about them. In those cases you know that after you marry its all about him and his work while all your dreams simply die.
.
The blible says 2 shall get double for their work. Not one person when they become 2 will get value for his work. Shishh. Don’t marry a FOOL. Marry someone who celebrates you, who wants to see you do well. Yes he may fake it but you knowww. Be wise ladies

This post is coming few months after the beauty Queen advised ladies not to be in a haste to get married; adding that being single is a blessing that should not be taken for granted. Omowunmi, who is single at the moment is of the opinion that the period of singleness is when women learn how best to serve their household when they eventually start a family.

In her words, “Being single is the time you use in getting yourself ready to serve your household.

Do not take it for granted, ladies. Being single is a blessing. I feel ready to serve my king daily and I can’t wait. Be still in your singleness.

You cannot become who God wants you to be without disruption. Someone is going to speak evil against you.

Someone will try to destroy you. You will be controversial while walking with God.

He is teaching you the importance of vision, teaching you to build that proverbs 31 woman” She said.
